NEW YORK - A center for business journalism, the first in the industry, was established at Graduate School of Journalism at the City University New York. The center is called Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism , directed by Jeff Jarvis, journalist, new media expert and lecturer, author of a blog later about the problems of journalism and 'publishing. The center was funded by four major foundations - Tow and Knight, McCormick, Mac Arthur Foundation and Carnegie , with 3 million dollars each.

The Center will strive to create a sustainable future for quality journalism in three ways:
- training of students and journalists in the field of innovation in business management;
- research on the most important as developing new business models for the 'news reporting;
- development of new media companies.
